Shipbuilding Apprentice Programs

  • Ingalls Shipbuilding Apprentice Program: If you are selected for the Apprenticeship Program, we will provide you the opportunity and the training required for you to succeed. You will earn excellent wages, while participating in a very intense training program to prepare you for your new career and provide you the knowledge to be productive in your new craft. During your development, you will attend the local Community College and take courses in related studies that help earn college credits toward an Associates Degree. This allows you to receive an education, build work ethic, gain experience and develop into a world class journeyman mechanic. College Students

  • Summer Internship Program: Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) offers a summer internship program that provides meaningful summer employment to college students enrolled in degree programs that match the company's needs. Participants will work full-time, 40-hours per week, for 10 weeks during the summer months. HII considers its summer internship program a vital pipeline for fueling professional talent. The application period starts in early December through mid-February. The program is for US Citizens with minimum 3.0 GPA (based on 4.0 scale).
  • Co-op Opportunities: : Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Cooperative Education (Co-op) programs give college students the opportunity to combine the knowledge learned in the classroom with practical work experience. By gaining valuable work experience in Co-op programs, participants are able to better evaluate their future career opportunities.
