Gdynia Maritime University is the largest state school of higher education in Poland and one of the largest in Europe. Since 1920 the University has been preparing graduates for officer positions on board merchant marine vessels and for managerial positions at the land-based institutions and companies representing the maritime industry and seaside regions. The University four Faculties offer degree in Navigation, Marine Engineering, Marine Electrical Engineering and Business Administration. At present Gdynia Maritime University provides studies for 8000 students.
The programs of studies satisfy both Polish educational standards provided by the Ministry of Education and also the requirements of the International Maritime Organization – IMO. The academic staff – representing doctor of science degree and scientific titles of a professor accompanied, in many cases, by the highest marine diplomas of a Master Mariner, Chief Engineer Officer and Shipboard Electrical Engineer – supported by the laboratory facilities offering 25 specialized simulators and ISO 9001 education quality management system implemented by the University.
The Maritime University actively co-operates in the conduct of joint research projects, preparation of young generation academic staff and in the exchange of students with 18 maritime institutions of higher education within international organizations such as: European University Association (EUA) and International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU).

The Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Quality Science is one of four faculties of Gdynia Maritime University. It is composed of Departments that conduct research-scientific and educational activities within their profiles of studies. The faulty educates students within the intra-mural and extra-mural systems. The intra-mural studies prepare for bachelor, Bachelor of Science, and Master of Science degrees. Additionally, the Faculty provides complementary master's and Master of Science degree studies. The same system has been adopted for extra-mural studies.
The Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Quality Science prepares specialists in management and quality science: business management, commodity science and quality management, tourism and hotel services management, products management in commerce and service, accounting and financial management, information management in public administration, change management, European Union projects management, human resources management, cosmetic products management, modern tools of management, Internet and multimedia in management, logistics and shipping, nutrition services and dietetics.
The graduates of the intra-mural studies are qualified for operational positions in the marine industry companies in tourism, hotel and catering enterprises, in domestic and international trading companies and in manufacturing plants. In addition, the potential employers for the graduates can also be: maritime administration, maritime agencies, and the enterprises operating in transport, cargo handling, brokerage, forwarding, ship afreightment, insurance, cargo expertise and inspection including the company departments of marketing and advertising, environmental protection and quality control.
