UOIT's innovative and unique undergraduate and graduate programs are designed to meet your interests and career aspirations, along with the market-driven requirements of employers. When you graduate, you will have the critical thinking, innovative research and technological skills demanded by the world's leading employers.
Teaching and research have long been considered the two pillars of the university endeavour. UOIT is equally committed to research intensiveness and excellence in teaching when it opened in 2003, forging a reputation as one of Canada's newest research-intensive institutions. This is uncommon as most higher education institutions start with a focus primarily on undergraduate teaching, followed by research years later. In 2003-04, UOIT had $250,000 of research funding, which increased to more than $1.2 million the following year with a small faculty complement of only 24. In 2008-09 alone, university researchers secured more than $8.1 million in external funding.
UOIT's Faculty of Business and Information Technology offers innovative degrees in both commerce and information technology. The programs provide a useful balance between theory and applied learning and may be enhanced with a variety of specializations to meet your needs. The combination of award-winning professors, career-focused programs and state-of-the-art facilities position the graduates for success in the 21st-century workplace.
