LOGISTICS & SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT, TRADE AND TRANSPORTATION EDUCATION AT THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS and SCHOOL OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY
Founded in 1910, The University of Southern Mississippi is a comprehensive doctoral and research-driven university with a proud history and an eye on the future. A dual campus university, Southern Miss serves students on campuses in Hattiesburg and Long Beach, in addition to six teaching and research sites in Mississippi.
Southern Miss offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in five degree-granting colleges – Arts & Letters, Business, Education & Psychology, Health and Science & Technology. In all, Southern Miss offers more than 180 degree programs for both undergraduates and graduates.
The College of Business offers various business and management programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Supply chain management emphasis is offered under the business administration degree. The Department of Construction under School of Science & Technology offers various logistics programs at the undergraduate and masters levels.
BSBA in Management (Supply Chain Management): The programs of study in management have three objectives: (1) to provide students with concepts, knowledge, and skills required in the effective management of organizations; (2) to prepare students for employment that will lead to positions of managerial responsibility; and (3) to make education in general management available to students pursuing technical, educational, and professional careers.
BS in Industrial Engineering Technology (Logistics): The major in industrial engineering technology is designed to prepare students to meet the growing demands of industry for employees with expertise in manufacturing processes, statistical quality control, production management, logistics, automation and computer-aided manufacturing.
MS in Logistics, Trade and Transportation: This program will prepare professionals for this new global economy and serve a niche not addressed nationally by logistics/transportation education and research centers; particular emphasis will be on the north-south multi-modal trade through the Americas. This Master Program can be customized to fit the working professional needs for career advancement with courses on-line and/or executive format. It is offered through the Center for Logistics, Trade, and Transportation (CLTT).
